A white concrete floor provides a house with a light base. This reference from Glansbeton mainly shows how the floor is finished: from the power trowel on site to the connections and the appearance of the treated surface. The photos show the house during the works.
A light concrete floor as a basis for the interior.
The original project report focused on the combination of white concrete with wood and other natural materials. A light floor can form a calm background for the interior. The final atmosphere arises from the interplay with the walls, the furniture and the daylight.
This photo series does not yet show a fully furnished house. Precisely because of this, the floor surface and the details around the walls are clearly visible. The shielded parts make it clear that the floor works form a distinct phase within the finishing of the house.
The power trowelling and the connections.
In one of the images, the power trowel is on the floor. Other photos show the transitions to the walls and openings between rooms. In residential concrete, these connections are important for the whole: it is not just about the large surface in the middle of the room.
For a new home, we therefore discuss the floor height, connections and layout in advance. The chosen construction must fit the design. These reference photos are an example of the execution, not a standard detail for every home.
Waxing a white residential concrete floor
The original report also pays attention to a protective treatment, several weeks after installation. The accompanying video shows those works. Which treatment is suitable for a new floor depends on the surface and the use; a project video is not a universal product recommendation.
