Permeable paving with DRAINIX

With DRAINIX, we create a driveway or parking area with concrete and openings for grass. Rainwater can seep into the subsoil through these openings, provided the soil and foundation allow it.

What is DRAINIX?

DRAINIX is an in-situ cast, reinforced concrete grass paver. The system forms a surfacing with openings where greenery can grow. This way you combine concrete with open space for rainwater and vegetation.

The water finds a path through the openings in the pavement. This differs from permeable concrete, where the water flows through the concrete structure itself. See below how we install DRAINIX.

A driveway or parking area with space for greenery

Do you want a drivable driveway without one fully closed concrete surface? With DRAINIX, concrete and grass come together in a regular pattern. The layout is tailored to the shape of your site, the access and the use.

When preparing, consider the vehicles that will use it, the turning movements, and the connection to the pavement or garage. Where you often walk, an adjoining walkway can be useful. Also discuss how you want to maintain the greenery.

Water must also be able to continue flowing beneath the pavement

An open top layer alone is not enough. The water must also be able to pass through the foundation and sub-base, after which the soil must be able to absorb it. That is why we examine the entire construction and the existing situation on the site.

We examine the soil, the elevations and the vehicles that will use the paving. Based on this, we determine the necessary construction. For site preparation, you can also rely on us for earthworks.

From preparation to concrete paving

The installation starts with preparing the subbase and edges. Then the DRAINIX system and reinforcement are incorporated into the structure and the concrete is cast on site. The photos show different phases and forms.

What determines the price?

Surface area, shape, accessibility and the required preparation together determine the quote. Existing pavement, height differences and the structure beneath the floor also count. A flat surface requires different preparation than a driveway with bends and various connections.

Provide your site address, dimensions and some overview photos. Indicate the purpose of the surfacing and what preparation has already been done. With a plan, we can review edges, access and water management together.

Maintenance and use

A water-permeable pavement also requires maintenance. Keep the openings free from accumulated dirt and tailor the maintenance to the chosen filling. Discuss in advance how you want to maintain the grass zones and which parts will be heavily driven over.
