Concrete floors for public spaces

A public space must be pleasant for visitors and practical for those who work there every day. A concrete floor can form a calm base for art, a retail interior or a hospitality business. Below you will discover own realisations of Glansbeton.

Matching the floor to the building

In a museum, the floor should support the interior without drawing all the attention. In a shop or restaurant, the appearance and daily maintenance play a role. In a childcare facility, the finish must suit the activities in the building.

That is why we discuss in advance the use, the expected load, the floor construction, the joints and the protection. Connections to other materials, the planning and the accessibility of the site also influence the execution. The right choices are determined together with the client, architect and involved contractors.

Discuss finishing and maintenance in advance

A floor for many visitors requires a well-considered finish. Discuss aspects such as contamination, wet areas, the cleaning regime and the desired appearance. A smooth surface or a protective product is not automatically suitable for every use.

Our information about polished concrete floors, protection of concrete and maintenance helps to prepare those choices.

Recognition for public contracts

Glansbeton obtained accreditation for public works contracts on 17 January 2019 in category D29. We announced this on our website on 13 March 2022.

Are you working on a public contract? Please provide us with the specifications and request the current recognition data and certificates for the relevant file. This way, suitability for the contract can be checked based on the applicable documents.
