Basement floors on the former mining site in Beringen

The former mining site in Beringen received a new future with its redevelopment. Glansbeton was commissioned to carry out the basement floors for three projects there: the swimming pool Mijn Zwemparadijs, Residence Sporenpark, and Houtpark.

Three destinations, concrete work as the foundation.

Swimming, living and care came together on the mining site. Beneath those different purposes lay a common task: the execution of the basement floors. The project photo shows the buildings of the mining site during the redevelopment.

The mining site during the works

The photos take you to the site environment of that time. Brick façades, large window openings and the headframe reveal the industrial history of Beringen. At the fence was also the Glansbeton site sign. This gives the reference a recognisable place within the redevelopment of the site.

Swimming pool, care and living

Our original site report mentions three purposes for which Glansbeton carried out the basement floors: Mijn Zwemparadijs, Residentie Sporenpark and the residential development Houtpark. These are different functions within the same redevelopment. The photos below show the shared site environment; they are not separate completion images of each of those three basement floors.

What the images show

The access sign and the existing building structures give an impression of the conditions around the works. It must be clear to the concrete team where the access is and how the work zone remains accessible. We discuss this in advance together with the involved parties, especially when multiple works take place on the same site.

The video further down this page shows the concrete work in the excavation pit. Together with the photos of the mining buildings, it tells more than just a general description: you see both the surroundings and a moment from the execution.

Basement floors during the redevelopment

In a larger construction project, the concrete works are aligned with the rough construction schedule. For the basement floor, accessibility, concrete delivery and execution are coordinated in advance. The plans and project requirements form the starting point for this.

For a private basement as well, we consider the concrete works tailored to the site. Send us the plans and the desired execution period so that we can prepare the approach and quotation.
