What does a concrete floor cost?

The price of a concrete floor depends on the complete execution. For a usable quote, we consider the surface area, floor construction, desired finish and site accessibility.

Which details determine the quote?

  • Surface area and layout: dimensions, separate rooms, corners and connections.
  • Floor construction: existing substrate, planned thickness, insulation and reinforcement according to the design.
  • Finishing: polished or washed concrete, colour choice, edges and joints.
  • Execution: access for concrete delivery, any pump and coordination with other works.
  • Curing and floor protection: protection of the fresh concrete during curing, with any subsequent surface treatment as a separate agreement.

Why does the price per m² differ between two concrete floors?

Comparing only the surface area does not give a complete picture. An open floor of 100 m² requires a different execution than the same surface area divided over rooms, a corridor and small connections. The location and use of the floor also matter.

  • Large floor or small spaces? Organising the concrete delivery, setting up materials and deploying the team requires preparation at every site. For a larger, easily accessible floor, these tasks can be spread over more square metres. Many corners, door openings and narrow strips require extra finishing work. A larger surface area is therefore not automatically cheaper per m².
  • Where is the site located? The site address helps to assess the supply from a suitable concrete plant and the transport distance. The availability of the requested mix, delivery conditions and accessibility also determine how the delivery is organised. Choosing only the nearest plant is therefore not always sufficient.
  • What must the floor be able to do? A residential floor, garage and industrial workspace have different usage requirements. The load, floor construction, finishing and protection must correspond to these. A price for a different application is not a reliable comparison without reviewing the content of both quotes.

Accessibility: more than just space for a concrete mixer

Show where the concrete mixer can be positioned, where a pump can be set up, and through which passage the screed and polishing machines can access the floor. Height differences, a floor level, narrow entrances or multiple separate rooms may require a different approach.

Therefore, also take photos of the route from the street to the work zone. A photo of just the empty space does not indicate whether the material can be easily delivered. Where a machine cannot reach, it may be necessary to... concrete polished by hand are necessary.

Compare quotes for the same work

A price per square metre is only comparable if the included works are the same. Check whether preparation, concrete delivery, installation, finishing, joints, protection and VAT are clearly described. Also have documented which works will be carried out by other contractors.

What type of concrete floor are you looking for?

A floor plan and surface area per floor

Include a legible plan with the floor dimensions in your request. Specify the surface area per floor and indicate which rooms need to be completed together. A total of 150 m² on the ground floor requires different preparation than 150 m² spread over three floors.

Indicate the purpose of each zone: a living room, basement, garage or outdoor floor. Also provide the intended concrete thickness if it has already been established in the design. If the build-up has not yet been determined, mention that; do not simply adopt a thickness from another project.

Complete the file with the site address, your phone number, the desired execution period and photos of the access. This way we can discuss any uncertainties and prepare a quote for the actual planned work.

Request a targeted price

Provide your site address, surface area, plans or photos, floor usage and desired execution period. Indicate which preparatory works have already been carried out or are planned. This allows us to assess the request accurately.
