At the former Sanseveria Funky Foodcorner in Diepenbeek, the concrete floor from Glansbeton formed the basis for a cosy interior. Blue armchairs by the window, brick walls and small tables gave the place its own atmosphere. These photos show how warm a hospitality space with concrete can feel.

A solid base for a soft seating area
The blue armchairs immediately stand out. Because of the calm grey tone of the floor, they get all the attention. The light from the street windows, the plants and the brick wall soften the image. Nothing in this interior calls for a clinical or cold atmosphere.
The photos are therefore also interesting if you are considering a concrete floor in your home. A comfortable armchair, warm lighting and materials with texture do a lot for the atmosphere. The floor itself does not need to be busy to give the space character.

Concrete between tables, chairs and the bar
Further inside the venue you see the floor again between the tables and along the bar. A calm floor surface brings cohesion to a space with many separate pieces of furniture. The different seating areas remain recognisable, while the whole does not look fragmented.
When preparing a hospitality floor, we also consider daily use. Walking routes, fixed furniture, connections and cleaning influence the choices. Polished concrete is not automatically stain-free: protection and maintenance deserve as much attention as the colour.
A look back at a characterful establishment
Sanseveria closed at the end of 2018. This story is a historical reference of the interior and the floor that Glansbeton executed there. The photos show the venue from that earlier period. They remain a fine example of the combination of concrete with soft furniture, greenery and brick.
Would you like a similar atmosphere for your own business or home? Send some photos of the space and the desired interior. We discuss the floor in relation to its use and the rest of the design. Also take a look at our residential concrete floors and the approach for polished concrete floors.

Questions about this project
Does a concrete floor suit a cosy hospitality interior?
The images of Sanseveria show how concrete goes together with fabric armchairs, brick and plants. The atmosphere arises from the combination of floor, furniture, light and colours.
Can I still visit this place as a reference?
Sanseveria is a historical reference and closed at the end of 2018. Use these photos as inspiration. Discuss with Glansbeton which current references suit your project.
